About the preacher
Lonnie Poore
Rev. Lonnie Poore was a U.S. Navy veteran and a faithful soldier in God’s army who answered his final call on August 20, 2017. For over fifty years, he preached the Word with power and humility—pastoring churches, conducting revivals, and mentoring young Christians with a heart full of compassion and conviction.
He was not only a beloved husband to his wife of 52 years, but also a spiritual father to many—including our own pastor, Bro. Jeff Clark, who credits Bro. Lonnie as a guiding influence in his life and ministry. Known for his kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel, Bro. Lonnie served with a deep love for God’s Word and God’s people.
If you had asked him how he was doing, he’d have smiled and said, “Better than I deserve.”
Sermon Scripture
Psalms 103:1–5 (AKJV)
103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
103:3 who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
103:4 who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
103:5 who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
